Doctors Hospital has cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitative programs, as well as physical and occupational therapy that are coordinated with the staff of the Sports and Industry Care Center. A Transitional Care Unit, also known as a Step-Down Unit, allows the patient to continue to recover in the hospital with less intensive nursing care than that found in an intensive care unit.
CARDIAC and PULMONARY REHAB Doctors Hospital offers an outpatient cardiac program designed to help cardiac patients achieve a high quality of life through positive lifestyle exercise training, nutritional counseling and other positive lifestyle changes. The pulmonary rehab program emphasizes breathing and relaxation techniques.
PHYSICAL and OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY The staff of licensed physical therapists can treat a wide range of medical diagnoses and related physical conditions including: sports injuries, headaches and jaw pain, neck and back pain, occupational/industrial injuries, hand/wrist injuries; neurological disorders, shoulder and knee pain and post-surgical pain and dysfunction.
A Comprehensive Occupational Medicine Program is also offered through the Sports and Industry Care Center at Doctors Hospital. Businesses' are assisted with workers' compensation. Components of the program include certified drug testing, free industrial consulting, medically necessary referrals and tests and case management.
