Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake will add cardiac electrophysiology procedures to its patient care offerings. A subset of cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology centers on the diagnosis and treatment of electrical disorders of the heart, including atrial fibrillation (“AFib”) ablation, and cardiac arrhythmia.
“We are pleased to add these procedures to round out the quality cardiac services offered at Doctor’s Hospital,” said Dr. Robert Rinkenberger, electrophysiologist on the medical staff at Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake.
The new electrophysiology services at Doctors Hospital will include comprehensive device (pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy) management including implantation, as well as analysis and reprogramming of these devices. The hospital will also offer electrophysiology studies to help determine the cause of an abnormal heart rhythm, as well as three dimensional mapping and ablation modalities which allows for locating the source of the abnormality and correcting it.
