Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake recently donated 50 pairs of comfy slippers to Remembering Mom:  The Barbara Franklin Foundation during their annual Mother's Day Celebration Luncheon.  The Foundation will give the slippers to mothers living with terminal illnesses.

Regina Franklin-Basye founded Remembering Mom:  The Barbara Franklin Foundation after the passing of her mother on May 9, 2003, from bone cancer, just six weeks after she gave birth to her own daughter.  She founded the organization to allow other women to grieve their loss and commemorate and celebrate the memory of their mothers, specifically around Mother's Day.

The donation is part of Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake's year-long campaign to commemorate 50 years of homegrown healthcare.  Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake is thanking the community it serves by asking organizations for items on their 'wish lists,' then donating them in lots of '50'.
